again. This morning, I went to a favourite park for shooting "newly-wed"
photos for lovebirds dying to be tied together by a bond they know
little or nothing about. I went to the Ma Wan Park. The results follow.

The park was filled with Bouganvilleas. They look beautiful under the sun.

Another bougainvillea.

I don't know what this is called. But it looks so strong and yet so delicate.

Neither do I know the name of this little flower

But I just found out that these are called "scarlet glorybowers"( (龍船花) otherwise known by the pompous sounding academic name of "ixora chinensis". Whatever their proper names, they're blooming in explosive profusion

A close up of some of them

There were also some yellow flowers called "Allamanda Schottii" (硬枝黄蟬).

These look beautiful but a little crumpled underneath the shade of some taller plants.

Unlike this young one.

Nor this.

The petals of this flower look so fine

Its cousin (?) with slightly more color

I found these beautiful orchids in a blaze of red against yellow at the bottom of a staircase leading to the South American section of the park

A close up of its stamen

And another stamen

I do not know if this is just what's left of an iris or its bud.

A fallen flower displaying its final splendor on top of the wooden bar of a railing

Fallen but still dignified in its dying throes.

But it was obvious that I was not the only visitor to the park.

My last look at the entrance of the park before I left. The sun is a master cosmetic artist, a magician!
Very beautiful flower especially the pink flower with backlight.

Crispy shots! But where are the "newly-wed" photos ?
回覆刪除[版主回覆05/09/2012 21:47:49]I must admit that the idea of photographing them when they were not paying attention did occur to me but upon a closer look, found that they're not really worth the bother!
good shots! all of them are so beautiful

這裡大多是紅色黃色的花,只一叢葉亦五彩繽紛,都很美.五才人那邊全綠色呀.
回覆刪除[版主回覆05/10/2012 23:43:35]五才人 has a pair of very discerning eyes which enable her to find the kind of beauty which would have escaped less sensitive eyes.
OH,,,you also took the photos of stamen. I like #15 & 16.
回覆刪除I also like #1 -- the sunlight ....beautiful
[版主回覆05/13/2012 00:56:37]Thank you. The flowers are really beautiful. The sun makes them more so.
