Change of Clothes at Kadoorie Farm 1

Since getting to know of its existence earlier this year, the Kadoorie Farm between Taipo and Yuen Long has never once disappointed me. Recently it has put on  its autumn attire.



The gardeners there really put their heart into their work. Every season, they give the farm a new look.



These are some of the flowers I found on the slopes.

It's already autumn.  Many flowers have turned into berries, fruits and seeds.

More prickly fruit

There are all kinds of little flowers there.

Similar ones in red.

This is one of lilies growing by the road side

Tiny little flowers like those we find on some of our beaches

These too are common flowers which we can find everywhere in the public gardens, but here, somehow, they look much prettier.

Their cousins in white and pink

Their brothers with a brighter hue

Probably of the same family but much less delicate

More of the same, but growing in a string instead of in clusters

Bigger flowers in purple

I have seen plenty of hibiscus but this is the first time I saw one in light purple !

This is another kind of very common flowers in the public parks

Another kind of purple flower found growing by the roadside

More common wild flowers which can be found everywhere in the country paths.

But that doesn't in any way mean they're inferior

All kinds of orchids, like this one in pink can be found in the green house for orchids.This one in yellow, white and purple

And this one which looks a flower with wings

A faded night-blooming cereus lying disconsolate on the ground. How different from the one at the the start of this blog, its head held high in hopes ? A sad reminder of what awaits us all. But sad or hopeful, life simply moves on !
