Practices at Kadoorie (嘉多利練習)

When we go to a park, nine times out of ten, we have our eyes only for the flowers. But sometimes, it may be worth our while to pay a little attention to leaves too.

their shapes and colors may be no less attractive.

Their color need not always be green.

They can be as red as the petals of the flowers.

The veins of their leaves may look remarkably like those of a tree.

Often, you may find unusual looking outgrowth on their stem.

Leaves may have intricate patterns on them too.

Often they may provide a background which highlights the color of the flower.

The color seems to have faded. Or is it another variety?

Some flowers may even look like leaves

like these

or these.

Surprisingly, some flowers look more like fruit.

Some tiny flowers.

More tiny flowers.

Two more.

Really small flowers spreading out like an little umbrellas.

A flower which has almost the same shape as the leaves!

Some flowers close to the entrance of the park.

Some bean flowers

Another one.

I don't know the name of these little flowers.

Whatever their name may be, I like their top.

This is a common flower.

Not this one.

Some daisies tattered by rain.

but this one is intact.

Beautiful purple, not at all gaudy.

 a bigger chrysanthemum

chrysanthesum with a different kind of petals

A chrysanthemum like flower

its half open bud.

Another variety.

This one is huge!

These look like abalones with a colorful heart and dagger like edges

So big and strong

Flames!

Some silky buds

Another flower bud, much more sturdy.

The flower will open in stages, the lower ones first

This one is about to open

how close to the branch they grow!

Some tiny bells. For whom do they toll?
