Saturday Fun Time

Everybody wants to have a break from work. Once in a while, they actually get it. So what's the first thing you do during these 4 days? Surely, to have a bit of fun. I'm sure everyone deserves it. But for those worrying types, work can never be far from their mind ! For such, here're some words which may be worth pondering over the long weekend. To prevent indigestion, I'll make them short.

1.     Robert Orben:

Every day I get up and look through the Forbes list of
the richest people in America. If I'm not there, I go to work.  Robert Orben

2.    Edgar Bergen:

Hard work never killed anybody. But but why take a chance?

2. Theodore Roosevelt:

Whenever you are asked if you can do a job, tell 'em, "Certainly, I can". Then get busy and find out how to do it.

3. Bertrand Russell:

One of the symptoms of an approaching nervous breakdown is the belief that one's work is terribly important

4. Gustave Flaubert:

Be regular and orderly in your life, so that you may be
violent and original in your work.

5. J Paul Getty

Going to work for a large company is like getting on a
train. Are you going sixty miles an hour or is the train going sixty miles
an hour and you're just sitting still?

Whether or not you agree, have lots of fun, but just not too many moon cakes!

  3. I'm approaching nervous breakdown but think that my work is terribly trivial.
[版主回覆10/03/2012 23:37:37]Whoosh ! What a relief ! If your trivial/important work causes to approach nervous breakdown at double speed, then I should be able to see some record of that in your sketches/painting at like speed !
[百了回覆10/03/2012 19:28:19]I'm just kidding. Thinks for your advice. You're very kind.
[百了回覆10/03/2012 19:27:26]Thank you for your advice. Your words carry conviction. So I think my work is terribly inportant and terribly trivial at the same time and I'm approaching nervous breakdown at double speed.
[版主回覆10/03/2012 16:55:39]You "serious" about the nervous breakdown? If you are, this is what I'd say: "trivial/important" is a subjective pair. what is "trivial" to a man may be very important to a woman, what is "trivial" to a teacher may be very "important" to a student. Everything in this world is connected, I'm sure you've heard the cliché, a whole forest may be set alight by a single spark! We may start something we regard as "trivial", only time will tell is it is really so. The ability of man to pre-judge is usually very poor. I've learned that we have a tendency to always over-estimate our ability in that regard, whether positively or negatively. The magnifying glass in that regard is our "imagination" ! So it'd be wiser just do what we feel like doing, and leave the future to tell us the results and not overly worry ourselves about its "importance/triviality".

    很有勉勵性的一編。謝謝分享。
