An Urban Cocktail

After attending a pre-tour tea party, I took a stroll home and was again surprised at how Central could look  if one were to observe it not for what it does for Hong Kong in terms of work, the function its has in our economy and the people who are supposed to run it financially, commercially and politically but merely different patterns of colors, of contrasts in brightness, of light and shadow, of the textures of different materials that make up its buildings, its machinery, its vehicles, its merchandise, its people; in short, as they "appear" to the unjaundiced human eyes.

Two reindeer and their shadows on a plate displaying a ladies' dress in lace.

The façade of a building in parallelograms of varying sizes against a foreground of natural flowers and leaves.

Glass windows and plastered walls against radiating palm needles

Geometrically straight and curved lines and surfaces of different colors and shades against the soft and flowing textures of a textile flag.

Frames for electric cables for our trams

The distorted forms of buildings reflected on glass windows carved into little squares and rectangles of different colors and divided by different kinds of lines.

More distorted forms of buildings reflected on the glazed glass panes broken by the irregular forms of palm leaves.

Pure lines and forms in different shades of grey

A welding worker against the steel girders he's working on in the afternoon sun.

A clump of roadwork signs against a postered wall.

Plastic bottles for distilled water on the back of a truck

Part of a mini electricity generator, road work lights and an "ice cream cone" at the back of a lorry.

Plastic Wellington boots, cables, rods and a tent cover?

Red and green ropes against some flattened abandoned card boxes tied to the back of a metal hand cart.

More distorted shapes of a number of buildings on the shiny surface on the front hood of a car.

More reflections on the surface of a head lamp.

Two buildings on the windscreen of another parked car

[版主回覆01/13/2012 00:17:31]I got a simple mind, use a simple instrument and do no editing or retouching. You see what my camera lens caught.
