Autumn in Kadoorie Farm (嘉多利之秋色)

Sunday was sunny but cool. Perfect for a day at Kadoorie, which I haven't been for quite some time. How are the flowers, ferns, shrubs, bushes and trees, animals etc there?

     A fallen leaf

leaves turning red

Chillis turning red

chillis turning purple

And don't think that chillies are always green or yellow or red or must be tapered

 Nor are beans always green

see? bean pods and its flowers all in purple!

This bean flower is yellow, a late comer, its neighbors have already turned into pods

so are these

The beet root too has ripened under the ground

above ground, the grass is spreading out its strings of hooked seeds

This fluffy red ball wants to disperse it seeds by wind, not through passing animals

even spring onions are producing its seeds. Never saw them before!

This lily is still busy blooming just a little distance away

The colors of autumn

stronger colors of autumn

opening its splendor to the season

this one isn't shy at all about displaying its fire

meanwhile, on the ground too, you can find little flowers just as fiery, with their own honey for their own kind of visitors

leaves too don't want to be left behind

leaves all red, and purple and green

More leaves, full of spikes for its own protection

It hasn't forgotten its back either

 Not these, soft and translucent

In a tiny garden outside the green house are some more sturdy flowers

it turns out that the yellow leaves are actually just protection for its flowers

These are the real flowers

So are these: quite tiny though

Though of a different color, they all grow straight up a stalk

How could there be flowers without butterflies

 and bees

A flower sucked almost dry

And what is this?

Now I know !

And on the ground, the pigs are either sleeping or feeding. Reminds me of some people. But I got to move on.

(to be cont'd)
