Saturday Joke

I studied in a Catholic school. No matter how bad certain miltant atheists think some religious schools are, there may well be just a little something going on there in such schools which somehow parents may find useful. You don't have to believe in what I'm talking about. Just read what follows.

Little Zachary was doing very badly in maths. His parents had tried
everything - tutors, mentors, flash cards, special learning centers. In short,
everything they could think of to help his math.

Finally, as a last ditch effort, they enrolled
Zachary in the local Catholic school. After the first day, little Zachary came
home with a very serious look on his face. He didn't even kiss his mother
hello. Instead, he went straight to his room and started studying.

Books and papers were spread out all over the room
and little Zachary was hard at work. His mother was amazed. She called him down
to dinner.

To her shock, the minute he was done, he marched
back to his room without a word, and in no time, he was back hitting the books
as hard as before.

This went on for some time, day after day, while
the mother tried to understand what made all the difference.

Finally, little Zachary brought home his report
card. He quietly laid it on the table, went up to his room and hit the books.
With great trepidation, his Mom looked at it.

To her great surprise, Little
Zachary got an 'A' in maths. His mom could no longer hold her curiosity. She went to
his room and said, "Son, what was it? Was it the
Nuns?"

Little Zachary looked at her
and shook his head and said "No."

"Well, then," she replied, '"was it the books, the
discipline, the structure, the uniforms? WHAT WAS IT?"

Little Zachary looked at her and said, 'Well, on
the first day of school when I saw that guy nailed to the plus sign, I knew
they weren't fooling around.'

Have a wonderful Saturday and if your kids have problems with maths, you might want to give this joke a little "serious" thought!

  1. I studied in a Catholic school too but my maths had never been good, in fact the worst of all subjects. How dumb of me that I could have missed that tell-tale sign.

  5. Just waked up from a not very good night's sleep. The doctors have rearranged my medication and scheduled another PET scan, but I have stopped cancer drugs too long, I don't know if this will help. I don't feel very well, but today is Sunday, the doctor caring for me is on leave. I find talking to someone makes me feel better!
[版主回覆04/17/2012 09:38:00]No need to worry about writing blogs. They're just a way of keeping our minds from getting rusty. If blog writing should prove too taxing for our health, you know where your loyalty lies. The logic is simple, no health, no blog! Impatience seldom get us anything but trouble! So relax, relax, relax!

I am not giving up on myself but I sometimes am stupid. They are going to drain pleural fluid fom my lung again tomorrow and trying to discharge me when they succeed in ridding intravenous infusion of antibiotic. I don't feel very comfortable and am drained of energy and tired. When I get better I will write a new post telling blog friends of my condition.
[版主回覆04/15/2012 09:12:32]You're right. We all feel better if we got someone we can talk to. Talking to others and expressing how we are and how we feel is Nature's way of helping us work off the stress building up within the muscles of our body. The good thing is that your pain in the past tense. Let' s hope it won't be in the future tense. Live in the present, let the future take care of itself. Have a good breakfast and do something which make you feel good.
