One never stops learning in photography. One of the things that I learned in my recent trip to Tap Mun is that one must really keep on practising. The subject on which one trains the focus of his camera need not be confined to objects or scenery conventionally accepted as "beautiful".
This is a deserted house I found shortly after I arrived upon the island.
A close up of some of the rubbish littering what used to be its garden
Some old oil cans.
This is a deserted house I found shortly after I arrived upon the island.
A close up of some of the rubbish littering what used to be its garden
A basket of discarded cold drinks cans.
Another bucketful of plastic bottle and metal cans.
Another bucketful of plastic bottle and metal cans.
Some old oil cans.
Some abandoned cones and pipes I found in the alleys.
Some abandoned rods, wires and iron mesh. I like the shadows.
Abandoned flower pots
An abandoned chair
Another rusted chair beside another deserted house.
A discarded bamboo basket amongst abandoned corrugated roofing materials.
Some discarded wooden planks
A mop sitting on a metal fence
Abandoned foam container beside a rubbish bin lying on its side.
A chair in front of an abandoned fibre glass oil or water drum
a work jacket danging from the side of an over full rubbish bin.
Part of the bottom of an unused fibre glass sampan.
Unused plastic buckets.sitting at the side of the road.
An abandoned tent sitting on the metal fence close to a high plain facing the sea.
The remains of a stone wall of a broken down hut, overgrown with creepers and moss.
Another abandoned hut being taken over by some wild plants.
Its front
The rotted planks and rusted zinc sheet of the deserted house.
Another abandoned house with wall paper all cut and hanging down.
Strips of old wall paper hanging down. Why was the house abandoned?
Plaster and adobe coming off a wall
Another house in complete disrepair.
Plaster peeling off another deserted house
Plants growing on the roof of his abandoned house.
Moss too would not forgo any chance for life.
A weathered wall.
Doors tied together with just a plastic rope!
Canvas all shredded
More tears in the canvas
More torn canvas.
The hole for a pillar to a former house now broken and became a dump for discarded cigarette butt!.
But not only can houses be deserted. So can dead trees be cut and left to die.
Another freshly cut plant
But Nature too has a way of recycling materials which cease to perform any useful function.
These are the casualties of life.
They may be dead but they died mute, proud, standing up! As they say, "Old soldiers never die. They merely go away!"
It looks like you have explored a lot in your "treasure island". Thanks for your sharing!

oh, El Zorro, I love this series of photos. When I arrived at this island, the 1st place I went was this "house". I stayed there for long long time eventhough it's just a little house. However, there wan't any sunlight so that I not take many photos.

[版主回覆12/21/2011 10:11:03]Yes, it's an SLR.
[只微回覆12/21/2011 08:41:42]是否用單反大機拍照呢? 畫質不太似小傻瓜!.....^o^..
[版主回覆12/21/2011 08:15:44]I love the island too. There were lots of people who sat on the high plain to admire the waves and enjoy the scenery. Maybe I'll go there again, to explore the other side of the island.
Yes, withered leaves have got their own charm too!
哈哈!你在島上也檢來很多垃圾喎!相機檢的漂亮^一^

很美,待天晴也要去一趟廢屋廢物攝影之旅。^_^
